I was going to wait until later to post about this, but today is the 38th anniversary of the Apollo 1 fire, and NASA’s official: Day of Remembrance for the crews of Apollo 1, STS 51-L (19 years ago tomorrow) and STS-107 (2 years ago next Tuesday). Writing this in a period when the Shuttle still hasn’t returned to flight, it is important to remember that the ISS is still operational (and just completed an EVA) and the US manned space program is an ongoing effort.
