To thank DJB for having me on his radio show this morning. Even bigger thanks to him for getting 91.1 to keep Buzz & Click alive. Even More Bigger thanks to him for allowing me to see my name on a Hatch Show Print poster.
To thank Tomorrow Ishikawa for busting forth with the live MAX/MSP manipulation on the very same program.
To let everyone know once again that Nophi needs your help, and so do many other victims of natural disasters.
To announce that a new Logickal release is forthcoming - Krush Job is the name. It’s an EP. Available next weekend at the Buzz and Click show. Surprised?
To let everyone know that Patick Fitzgerald is one of my heroes. Do a job, do it well, and deliver it all at the press confrence like Elwood Blues.
First of all, I just found out that our friend Randy Garcia and the the rest of the Nophi operation in Ft. Lauderdale were devastated by Hurricane Wilma. All of our thoughts are with them as they try to recover - please consider donating the Red Cross or contacting Threv about anything else you might be able to do for these folks.
Tomorrow (Sunday 30oct) I will be making an appearance on The Mixdown on WRVU Nashville along with Tomorrow Ishikawa to participate in some pre-Buzz & Click hype. You can tune in locally at 91.1 WRVU or get a Real Audio stream here - if you miss it, all of the shows are archived, so there’s no excuse not to listen!

Still working on a new podcast. You can choose your own adventure with this one. I’m either:
- Working feverishly on both a new episode of the podcast and a live set for an upcoming perfomance (see below). OR…
- Playing videogames, surfing the web, messing with my new bicycle. OR…
- A little of both, plus watching the kids because the wife is working her new job and playing around with psychedelic video for possible inclusion in the performance.
You be the judge.
In the meantime, all Nashville-area readers should definately stencil the date November 5, 2005 on their calendars, digital watches, sundials, dayplanners, blackberries, palmpilots, whatever you have. Why? The third edition of the annual Buzz & Click showcase, sponsored by and benefiting Nashville’s finest radio station (Vanderbilt’s 91.1 WRVU) and featuring all the best electronic and experimental music Nashvegas has to offer. Here’s the lineup:
8-8:25 Matt Hamilton
8:30-9 Birdfeeder
9-9:25 Let’s Say Baltimore
9:30-10 Bluff Duo
10-10:25 Logickal
10:30-11 Satellite City
11-11:25 3kStatic
11:30-12 Athena Blue
12-12:25 Jensen Sportag
12:30-1 Ishikawa Tomorrow
It happens Saturday the 5th at the 5 Spot and is a measly 5 bux (Detecting a theme here?). Come out or be forever shamed!
The Covert Operators, authors of fine soundware for Ableton Live’s Operator, have a new webpage along with a new product for sale.
I am working on a podcast for this week - just getting ready for a show in about a week and a half… More details on that later. In the meantime, go visit playtherecords for an excellent music blog - give it three thumbs up.
The Melloman - DIY Mellotron
As a huge Mellotron fan, all I can say is… SWEET. You can go check out the real thing at www.mellotron.com
Apologies for the lateness of the latest podcast. Seems like a conspiracy sometimes, you know?
Anyway, this is a special episode of FlightDynamics, where Logickal plows through his memory banks (and CD collection) to mine some of the tracks that were most influential to him when he was but a wee Space Cadet. However - don’t think for a second this is just another digital mix-tape. There are 11 individual track in this podcast, all of which are nearly all original compositions sourced exclusively from a track that was really important to me between the years of 1981 and 1991. They aren’t quite covers, and they aren’t quite remixes (well, a couple of them are closer to being straight remixes, but who’s counting?).
Here’s where the fun begins. Email me with your guesses as to the songs that are being paid tribute to here. Those who send the most correct answers can receive one of the following -
- A podcast episode dedicated to their own music (or music they represent via their netlabel)- regardless of style.
- A podcast curated by the winner - I can help put it together, or you can do the whole deal.
- A free remix by Logickal of one of your tracks- with which you can do what you will..
- A free Logickal CD, custom made right here from the studio.
Sound like fun? Email me with your guesses!

Hi, everyone. I promised I’d get something up, so here something is. I’ve re-encoded the first episode of the podcast into mp3 for those of you who haven’t listened it yet because of it’s m4a format. All of the relevant info is available by reading this blog post. Apologies to all those who’ve heard it and are waiting for something new - new stuff is coming right up.

Yes, I know that I missed a week with the podcast. I can’t even begin to tell you how broke up I am about it, either. I’m working on it tonight and will get it up here as soon as I can. In the meantime, let me encourage everyone out there with tracks or performances to let me know if you want to be featured in an upcoming episode!
While you’re waiting for the podcast, let me suggest that you run down to your local movie house and Go See Serenity. Even if you’ve never seen the show (you won’t miss anything if you haven’t). Even if rabid fan bases give you the twitchies (don’t worry, they don’t bite). This movie earns the smart/funny tag while still having plenty of action and cool special effects, but don’t rely on them the way some other recent films (coughStarwarscough) have. The finale sequence will have you on the edge of your seat in a brilliant stroke of suspensful storytelling. Trust me on this one.
Anyway, I’ll get a podcast to you soon. I promise!
