I heard about this on NPR on that Friday, April 21st, the very next day, as I was driving through Chattanooga. There I was, probably only a few hundred miles from where he went down. It totally blew my mind. My Dad has been a fan of Scott's since before I was born and passed on that admiration to me. Scott did more for the space progam than most people will ever understand. I have to wonder how the news hit Chuck Yeager since they were very close friends.

NPR interviewed a man whom had worked closely with Scott (I forget his name). He said something in reference to the probably cause of the crash that really summed Scott up. I afraid I have to paraphrase: "Scott had more natural ability than any pilot. I guarantee Scott did not fail the plane. The plane failed Scott."

Godspeed, Scott. We will miss you.
