Canon PIXMA CD-R Labeling Hack

I need to buy a printer. The Canons look like really nice machines, but the CD-printing feature was disabled on the US models. This site shows you how to re-enable. Or, I could go for the Epson I’ve been planning on. Anyone out there have any suggestions?

I can definitely recommend the Canon — I’ve been really happy with my i9100 series. Compared to the Epsons I’ve used, it just works — great color out of the box with little tweaking necessary. If CD printing is important, you might not want to rely on a hack, but that’s another story.

I’ll probably go with the printer - and looking at this, it’s not so much a hack as a re-enabling of a feature that the firmware keeps hidden when it’s in “US Mode”…
